How I help people Downsize...

from their current home to a better lifestyle choice - I’ve been helping people with their real estate needs since 1987. Over the years I have helped people transition from their current larger home to a smaller easier care property.

More recently they have put a label on it – "Downsizing" – when I started out I was just helping our seniors move to a better retirement accommodation... Today – most people I help have lived in their current home for 20 plus years. I really understand that the decision to make a move is very hard for them. Humans are creatures of habit and change is always hard to do.

What I have found is that most people need to visualize themselves in a better place or property and usually they cannot do that unless they can physically.

It’s better ahead

inspect and view a property…Therefore part of my job is to arrange some properties for people to inspect so they can get a feel of where they may be moving to.

Once people feel comfortable about where they could move to – we can then start to work on preparing their current property For Sale and start a marketing process. Usually the homes may need de-cluttering or some minor maintenance to enhance appearance to ensure a good sale price.

My advice is to start early, plan ahead by getting me in to evaluate your current property and to allow you to get an understanding of the whole process. I openly encourage you to involve family or trusted advisors if need be.
